📦 How to Track AliExpress Orders For Your Customer

Updated this week

When a customer asks, “Where’s my order?”, you need a fast and reliable way to check the shipping status. If your order was placed through AliExpress, this guide shows you exactly how to track it and confidently respond to your customer.

🧭 Step 1: Log into Your AliExpress Account

  1. Click "Sign In" in the top-right corner.

  2. Use the same account you used when placing the customer’s order through DSers or manually.

🔍 Step 2: Go to “My Orders”

  1. Once logged in, hover over your name in the top right corner.

  2. Click “My Orders.”

  3. Find the order you placed for your customer.

Tip: Use the customer's name or order id to help you find the right order if you’ve placed many.

🔢 Step 3: Find the Tracking Number

  1. Next to the product, click the “Track Order” or “View Detail” button.

  2. You’ll now see:

    • 📦 Tracking number

    • 🚛 Shipping carrier

    • 📍 Order status (e.g. shipped, in transit, delivered)

This is the number you’ll use to track the shipment across different tracking sites or share with your customer.

🌍 Step 4: Track the Shipment (Two Options)

✅ Option A: Use AliExpress's Built-in Tracking on Their Website

  1. From the order page, click “Track Order.”

  2. Scroll down to see shipping progress:

    • Departure scans

    • Customs clearance

    • Arrival in destination country

    • Out for delivery or delivered

Note: Sometimes AliExpress tracking can lag or only show basic updates.

✅ Option B: Use a Universal Tracking Site (Recommended!)

If AliExpress tracking is vague or missing updates, try this:

  1. Copy the tracking number from AliExpress.

  2. Paste it into the search bar on the ParcelsApp site.

  3. Hit "Track" and see updates from multiple carriers, including local USPS, Canada Post, etc.

This is a great tool and you can send this URL link and the tracking number toyour customer so they can track it themselves!

📝 Step 5: Save the Tracking Info in Shopify (Optional but Smart)

If you used DSers to place the order it will automatically update your Shopify store. If you manually placed the order on AliExpress you can save this information in the order! To stay organized and easily find tracking details again:

  1. Go to your customer’s order in Shopify.

  2. Scroll to the Timeline section at the bottom of the order.

  3. Paste the AliExpress Order ID and/or Tracking Number.

  4. Click Post! Now if you need to search the order status in AliExpress again you, now have the order id Saved!

🔐 Note: The timeline is private and only visible to your team, not the customer.

📣 Step 6: Update the Customer (If Needed)

If a customer asks for an update, reply with for example:

“Hi [Name], your order is currently in transit and here is your tracking link: [paste from ParcelsApp]. You can follow along there and let me know if you have any questions!”

🚨 If There’s an Issue or Delay

  1. Go to the order in AliExpress.

  2. Click “Contact Seller.”

  3. Send a message like:

“Hi, I’m following up on this order: [Order ID]. Can you confirm the current tracking status and estimated delivery date?”

Most sellers respond within 1–2 business days.

💡 Bonus Tips

  • Don't panic if tracking is slow early on, international orders take time.

  • Orders may not update for a few days due to customs or transit delays.

  • Tracking numbers may change carriers (e.g. from China Post to USPS), that’s normal. 99% of the time they will automatically update on Shopify.
