How much to charge for your items, & if items should be on sale

Hey Ladies,

This is a common question we receive so I wanted to make an article covering how to properly price your products from your supplier.

In the course, we teach you to try and price at least 3 times what the product originally costs.

An example: The supplier is charging 6.00 for a shirt. You should aim to charge at least x 3 of that = 18.00. But, remember, this is your store! If you want to charge 39.99 for that shirt, that is okay too!

The reasoning behind the 3x rule is to make sure you actually make some money on your sale when the customer buys from you.

But when it comes to super cheap items, such as jewelry, I would suggest going a little higher.

An example: The supplier is charging 1.00 for a ring. With the 3x rule you'd assume 3.00 is a fine price but in reality, that won't even cover shipping. (Most suppliers do charge around 5.00 for shipping.)

For jewelry you can charge big numbers like 50.00 but in this example for a little ring say you start at 19.99 as a price point. Again, these are just ideas/examples to further explain pricing.

Sale Items

It's great to make items "on sale" to add that illusion of a good deal! We want every visitor to convert into a customer. Having items on sale makes this more achievable.

An example: The supplier is charging 6.00 for a shirt like we mentioned above. Let's say we charge 39.99 for the shirt but also want to add a compare price to mark the item as on sale. A good compare price could be 49.99 to give that illusion of 10.00 off.

In all, you can price your items however you'd like! Just make sure you're charging 3x or more and for super cheap items go above that, too.
